When to go: The best travel period is from spring to autumn.

Where to enjoy food: Breakfast is included in the room rate and the hotel’s restaurant is open during the whole day. You could order a half board for 30 €/person/dinner. In Bled you can find a lot of restaurants with similar standards.
Where is it: The small town of Bled is in the North of Slovenia, surrounded by the Alps. The nearest airport is 40 km far away, in Ljubljana. You can use an airport in Austrian Klagenfurt as well, it`s only 90 km away.
Why go there: A small, romantic town, a castle on the rock, an island with a church and the Alps. That’s Bled. You can sail on a rowboat (which you borrow) to the island on your own or you can use services of a boatman. If you happen to drop out of your boat while rowing, don’t worry, swimming is allowed. 🙂 Walking around the lake is nice too, it takes 3 hours to go full circle. You will find a lot of restaurants and bars during the pleasant walk.
Don’t miss an opportunity to hike in the close and only national park in Slovenia – the Triglav. You will enjoy nature and the lake Bohinj, which really looks as good as on a postcard.
Also it is not too far to the cosmopolitan Ljubljana or the famous Postojna cave.
How much is enough: The rate starts at 180 €/night/room for two.
When I want something different: If you are looking for a similar standard, find it in Tito`s ex-residence Vila Bled with a garden, terrace and a spa. You can also try Adora Luxury Hotel or the 3-stars Hotel Astoria. If you are out of money, look for the Hotel Starkl – Heritage & Unique right next to the lake.
